A Winning Week for Jones Engineering: Honoured for Safety and Apprenticeship Excellence

Jones Engineering is proud to celebrate an outstanding week of recognition, securing multiple national awards for both safety and talent development last week.

The company’s dedication to developing the next generation of engineering talent was honoured at the Irish Construction Industry Awards 2025, where Jones Engineering won the prestigious Apprenticeship Programme Award. This accolade celebrates the organisation offering best-in-class training and development opportunities within Ireland’s construction sector

Adding to the success, Jones Engineering was also recognised at the National Irish Safety Organisation (NISO) Awards in Killarney, receiving both the Excellence in Safety Award and the Higher Distinction Award, placing the company among the top ten in Category 1 nationwide.

Excellence in Apprenticeship Training

The Apprenticeship Programme Award recognises companies that demonstrate excellence in areas such as programme design, business and apprentice benefits, implementation, evidence of measurable impact, and going beyond standard training requirements.

Jones Engineering’s winning submission showcased its comprehensive and structured approach to Mechanical and Electrical apprentice development, underpinned by the company’s Apprentice Academy in Bagenalstown, Carlow. The Academy includes dedicated craft training space, welding facilities, and MEWP training, all designed to give apprentices a safe and practical environment to hone their technical skills before progressing to site work.

The programme’s innovative design includes five-day residential training blocks that simulate working away from home, building independence and teamwork, accompanied by ongoing electrical theory sessions to strengthen technical proficiency.

A Culture of Safety and Continuous Improvement

Following this success, Jones Engineering’s commitment to workplace safety was recognised at the NISO Awards, where the company earned two major accolades: the Excellence in Safety Award and the Higher Distinction Award.

Jones Engineering’s success at national safety awards underscores its ongoing investment in training, behavioural safety programmes, and monitoring systems that keep safety at the forefront of every project.

Stephen McCabe, CEO of Jones Engineering, added:

“Winning these awards in the same week is a powerful reflection of who we are as a company, one that invests in its people, prioritises safety, and continuously strives for excellence. These recognitions belong to every member of the Jones team who contributes to our culture of learning, innovation, and care.”
